Dr. Merin Paul Pittappillil

Dr. Merin Paul Pittappillil completed her MBBS from Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, India in 2010. She finished her MD in Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprosy from Government Medical College – Kottayam, India in 2013. A year later, she qualified her DNB in in Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprosy. She received her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology under Rajiv Gandhi University for Health Sciences at Banglore Medical College and Research Institute, India in 2015. She received a scholarship at the Ohio State University, USA to study the epigenetic silencing of genes in cancer and potential therapeutic applications.

Dr. Merin started her medical practice at the Government Medical College, Kottayam in 2013. Then she became an Assistant Surgeon and Medical Officer In-Charge at the Department of Health Services - PHC Asamannoor, Government of Kerala, India. In 2015, she joined a specialist skin clinic in Banglore as Consultant Dermatologist. Then in 2018, she worked as a Consultant Dermatologist and Cosmetologist at BCF IndoAmerican Hospital, Cochin.

To her credit, Dr. Merin has undergone many advanced trainings and extensive workshops in cutaneous sciences clinical dermatology, laser, rheumatology and connective tissue disease, injectables, cosmetic dermatology, aesthetic dermatology, and hair transplantation – to name a few. Dr. Merin has been invited as a speaker, panelist, and demonstrator in various Continuing Medical Education sessions. She has also authored and presented award papers.

Dr. Merin’s areas of expertise include diagnosis, treatment, and management of issues on hair growth or hair reduction, pigmentation and tattoos, scars, vascular, skin tightening, psoriasis, vitiligo, and anti-aging.
