Dr. Mohamed Wasfi El Abiary

In the UK, Dr. Wasfi handled the neonatal units of Borders General Hospital and the Eastborne District General Hospital for 8 years. In 2004, Dr. Wasfy moved to the UAE and joined a large government hospital as a Consultant Pediatrician and Head of the Pediatrics Department. During his tenure, the pediatric department was revamped with a host of additional facilities and equipment.

In 2011, Dr. Wasfy joined a primary referral hospital in Abu Dhabi where he became the Associate Director of the Pediatric unit.

Dr. Wasfy has a strong industry interface and has been invited as a speaker in number of key medical conferences. He has also been teaching medicine to both undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, he is a vital part of the UAE Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCPCH) clinical examination organizing committee. Dr. Wasfy has also written a number of papers on pediatrics which has been published in renowned medical journals.

Dr. Wasfy has more than 30 years of experience that spans the UK and the Middle East. His special interests include Childhood Diabetes (pre-teen diabetes), Obesity, Growth Problems, General Pediatrics, Thyroid & Adrenal conditions.

Education:

Dr. Wasfy graduated from the Ain Shams Faculty of Medicine, Egypt in 1978. After his graduation, he became a member of the Royal College of Physicians – United Kingdom in 1991. He then completed his Doctorate in Medicine at Benha University, Egypt in 1994. Dr. Wasfy subsequently became a fellow of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health – UK in 1997 and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2000. In 2012, Dr. Wasfy completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wales, UK.
