Dr. Muhammad Saif Rehman, MBBS, is a Staff Physician in the Emergency Medicine Institute and the Director of the Multidisciplinary Simulation Center at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Rehman was a consultant in Emergency Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, which is one of the largest trauma center and tertiary care university teaching hospital in the UK. At this post, he gained experience in treating all types of emergencies including critically ill patients and major trauma. During his tenure, he also served as a departmental lead for simulation, electronic patient records (EPR)/IT and Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) training program. He implemented electronic prescribing in the emergency department.
Dr. Rehman received his medical degree from Nishtar Medical College, Multan, Pakistan. He completed his residency at Health Education England, West Midlands, UK and gained Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Emergency Medicine by the General Medical Council (GMC), UK.
Prior to starting training in emergency medicine, Dr. Rehman ventured into the field of medical informatics. He gained a master's in software development and graduated with distinction from University of Huddersfield, UK. Subsequently, he was given a scholarship to do research at the School of Computing Science, Middlesex University, London, UK. His major research area was virtual reality simulations for the training and assessment of surgeons.
Dr. Rehman has keen interest in medical simulations, teaching, research, trauma and emergency ultrasound. He served as a simulation lead for the School of Emergency Medicine, Health Education England, West Midlands, UK.
Dr. Rehman resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and two children. When he is not working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Rehman enjoys spending time with family, traveling and playing table tennis and squash.
