Nailah Mahmood is a Clinical Psychologist who has received extensive training in working with children and adults across various psychological disorders. These include Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, OCD, and Schizophrenia Spectrum and other Psychotic Disorders, along with providing counseling for oncology patients. After receiving her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), she completed her post-graduate training at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Abu Dhabi. Nailah has previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Behavioral Neuroscience Lab at UAEU, during which she established a strong understanding and knowledge of carrying out psychological research. Her primary work in research has focused on studying genetic factors contributing to depressive disorders, and neuroprotective factors in neurodegenerative disorders.
Nailah uses an integrative psychotherapy approach, incorporating elements of psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques. She has received supervised clinical training during her time as a graduate student from Maudsley Health Abu Dhabi and Tawam Hospital. She is also trained in administering various psychological assessment tools, including intellectual, personality and behavioral assessments. Nailah is fluent in English and Urdu/Hindi.
