Dr. Nidal Shawish

Dr. Nidal Shawish, MBBS, is an Associate Staff Physician in the Emergency Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Shawish worked at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE from 2016 to 2019. He also worked at Hamad General Hospital in Doha, Qatar and at the Jordan University Hospital in Amman, Jordan, both as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine from 2012 to 2016. Upon receiving the Jordanian Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Shawish had extensive clinical experience working at some of the busiest emergency departments in the middle east region. These experiences acquainted him with the needed clinical skills and abilities to provide an accountable and professional life saving service to a wide variety of clinical emergency conditions.

Dr. Shawish was awarded the Higher Specialization in Accident and Emergency Medicine, MSc. A&E, Certificate from Jordan University Hospital. Dr. Shawish also holds a Jordanian Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (JBEM) after passing the specialization exam. He is an American Heart Association AHA accredited ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) course Instructor, US Society of Critical Care FCCS (Fundamental Critical Care Support) course Instructor, US NeuroCritical Care Society ENLS (Emergency Neurology Life Support) course Instructor/Trainer, US Society of Critical Care PFCCS (Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support) course Instructor and AHA PALS (Pediatrics Advance Life Support) certified provider.

Dr. Shawish received his medical degree from the University of Aden in Aden, Yemen. He completed a four year residency program at the Jordan University Hospital.

Dr. Shawish resides in Abu Dhabi with his family. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading books, sports (cycling, walking, and running), socializing with others and traveling. He is always keen to explore any challenges that put him out of his comfort zone.​​
