Dr. Panagiotis N. Papanikolaou, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician in the Surgical Subspecialties Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, specializing in ear, nose and throat diseases and surgery.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Papanikolaou was an Otolaryngologist at his own private medical clinic in Ioannina, Greece. He was also an Associate of ORL Athens Clinic, Athens, Greece, where he performed surgical procedures of his specialty.

Dr. Papanikolaou received his medical degree from the University of Ioannina, Greece and completed his basic surgical training in the Department of Surgery at G. Hatzikosta General Hospital of Ioannina, Greece. He received his specialist certificate in Otorhinolaryngology from the first Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Hippocration General Hospital, Greece.

In addition, he holds a PhD in medicine from the University of Ioannina School of Medicine. He has been a Research Associate of the Clinical and Molecular Epidemiology Unit in Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology at the University of Ioannina School of Medicine, Greece since 2001. He has special interest in studying harms of medical interventions. He has also authored several papers in international medical journals and book chapters.

Dr. Papanikolaou is married and resides in Abu Dhabi with his family. His hobbies and interests include tennis, water-skiing, swimming, fishing, traveling and music.
