Dr. Paoula Saoud

Ms. Paoula Saoud is a Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. She obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology from Paris Descartes University, France in 2016. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Lebanese University in 2014. In addition, she also attained a Diploma in Addiction and Substance use from the Saint Joseph University in Lebanon in 2019. She remains a licensed psychologist in Lebanon and the UAE.

Ms. Saoud has been in the field of mental health for over four years. Her early role in 2016 with UNAFAM, an NGO in France, consisted of individual and group psychological support for families of mental health patients. Later, she took on the role of clinical psychologist at the Counseling Center at the American University of Beirut, for four years until 2021 where she worked with young adults from different backgrounds suffering from day-to-day problems and psychological difficulties.

She gained her experience through center-based and private practice providing psychological services in various settings with culturally diverse populations, patients and their families. Besides her experience with adults, Ms. Saoud has trained in treatment of drug abuse in France and Lebanon.

Ms. Saoud adopts an eclectic approach, combining psychodynamic, interpersonal, cognitive and behavioral therapy. She aims at creating a non-judgmental, open, and empathetic atmosphere in therapy.  Her area of expertise is in the use of an integrative modality to work with conditions such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, substance use and other adjustment struggles. She remains an advocate for mental health awareness and drug prevention.
