Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Qasim Khalil, MD, spent his career both in private practice as a Hospitalist physician and in academic centers, training young doctors and medical students. He is American Board certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Khalil received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies. He completed his residency at the Jewish Hospital of the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, USA.

After completing his residency, he joined a multi-specialty private practice group as a hospitalist in Dayton, Ohio. He then transitioned to a hospitalist practice at the Veterans hospital in Dayton, Ohio and also served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine with Wright State University, Internal Medicine department from 2008 to 2013. He then moved to Houston, Texas, US, to join the Veterans Hospital and the Baylor College of Medicine as an academic hospitalist and assistant professor of internal medicine until his transition to Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Khalil resides in Abu Dhabi with his wife and four children. He enjoys outdoor activities including hiking and camping. He also enjoys wood working.​​​​​​​​​​
