Dr. Rana Daners

Dr. Rana is continually enhancing her experience and Medical knowledge by attending Various international conferences. She speaks fluent Arabic, English and German.

She is a licensed surgeon with experience in cataract extraction and Glaucoma surgical procedures. Her expertise includes diagnosis and treatment of patients with corneal disorders such as Keratoconus, assessment and treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy and Age-Related Macular Degeneration as well as Retinal Detachment.

She has a special interest in Blepharoplasty and eyelid disorders .

After graduating from the faculty of medicine as a general practitioner from Damascus university, Dr. Rana started her ophthalmology training in 1993 and obtained a Master degree in ophthalmology and eye surgery.

She completed her training course at the American university of BEIRUT in 1997 and then worked as an ophthalmologist in Private Medical center / BEIRUT Lebanon for 6 years before moving to Dubai.

During her training Dr. Rana focused on

• Routine eye exam and Pediatric exam;
• Amblyopia treatment;
• diagnosis and treatment of Glaucoma, cataract and squint/ strabismus;
• Hypertension evaluation and treatment;
• diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions related to other diseases like diabetes and arthritis;
• Meibomian gland dysfunction, Dry eye syndrome, ocular Allergies besides eye infections and
  eyelid disorders.

Dr. Rana worked in a laser eye center for several years before moving to Gulf eye center. During that time she upgraded her skills in Retina and Fundus Fluorescence Angiography, Lasik and Cosmetic eye surgery including Blepharoplasty, eyelid disorders and eyebrow lift.

She did Pre- lasik surgery evaluation preparing patients for their laser surgeries and then postop care, collaborating with visiting Lasik surgeons and Oculoplastic surgeons from Europe and USA.
