Dr. Rani Umul Khair

Dr. Rani Umul Khair is a dynamic female plastic surgeon with a vast experience in diverse sub-specialties of Plastic Surgery.

Surgeon by profession, she is also a painter and a sculptor. Her artistic skill has immensely helped her develop her surgical technique with finesse and precision. She is a firm believer in evidence based medicine and keeps herself updated with recent advances in the field of plastic surgery. This has benefitted her patients with more advanced techniques and technologies.

Dr. Rani believes that when she operates on a patient she leaves her signature on them for life. She proudly affirms “After all its my signature, I make sure it appears the best”.

EXPERIENCE:

Hailing from southern part of India, after receiving undergraduate and post graduate training in her home-state, she moved to New Delhi, the capital of India where she received Post Graduate Training in Plastic and Reconstructive Microsurgery from Safdarjung Hospital, which has one of the oldest plastic surgery departments in the country.

After her plastic surgery training, she pursued a fellowship in Cleft lip and palate at G S Memorial Hospital, Varanasi under the smile train programme. This centre operates among the largest number of cases of cleft lip and palate cases in the world.

Then she joined Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai, the business capital of India, where she was trained for microvascular surgery under the stewardship of renowned Microvascular surgeons and gained a vast experience in handling complex cases.

She then moved to UAE where she joined Mafraq Hospital, Abu Dhabi which is a tertiary care public hospital, owned and operated by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA). She attended and performed complex surgeries and was appointed as a member of their research committee.

Dr. Rani travelled to Brazil to be trained by Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Pitanguy was one of the world’s top plastic surgeons, responsible for making Brazil the hub of plastic surgery for the rich and famous, and one of his signature surgeries is now popular worldwide as the “Brazilian Butt Lift.” Dr. Rani also trained under many other stalwarts in the field of plastic surgery to enhance her skills.
