Dr. Reem Abdwani is an associate professor and senior consultant pediatric rheumatologist. She graduated from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman in 1997 and completed her pediatric residency training at McGill University, Montreal, Canada (2000 -2003). She received the American Academy of Pediatric Board Certification (2003) and Royal College of Physician and Surgeons in Canada Specialist Certification in Pediatrics (2004). Thereafter, she has completed her pediatric rheumatology fellowship training from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada (2004-2006). She received her specialist board certification in pediatric rheumatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada (2006). In addition, she has been elected as Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) in recognition of her achievements of high standards in education and training and welfare of children (2011).
She has more than 15 years of clinical experience in pediatric rheumatology. She has vast experience in the treatment of inflammatory conditions in children including Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Juvenile onset Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Juvenile onset connective tissue diseases, childhood vasculitis , autoinflammatory syndromes and other autoimmune conditions in children. She is passionate about her work and believes in providing the best possible care to patients using innovative evidence-based therapies.
