Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Abdel Ghani was a specialist in hospital medicine at the Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford, North Carolina, US. He was previously an academic hospitalist at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), in Columbus, Ohio, US, in the Division of Hospital Medicine. During his time at OSU he provided specialized care to hospitalized patients, while also devoting time to point-of-care ultrasound research and education.

Dr. Abdel Ghani received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, Grenada, West Indies. He completed his internal medicine residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, in affiliation with The University of South Carolina, in Columbia, South Carolina, US.

He completed a primary care ultrasound fellowship, the first of its kind, at the Ultrasound Institute at The University of South Carolina. During his fellowship, he served as a Clinical Instructor of Medicine, as a faculty member within the Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Abdel Ghani has continued interest in the applications of point-of-care ultrasound, helping the Society of Hospital Medicine develop national guidelines on its use for diagnostic purposes, as well as procedure guidance.

Dr. Abdel Ghani’s interests include football, music, travel and enjoying quality time with his wife and two kids.​​​​​​​
