Dr. Sami Tabib is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). He obtained his pre Med degree with honors from the City University of New York. He then obtained his DPM degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. Next, he completed a two year foot surgery residency program at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey where he was chief resident and was granted a Podiatric surgical residency degree by Seton Hall University in West Orange, New Jersey. He is board qualified by the American board of Podiatric Surgery and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).
More recently, Dr. Sami passed part 1 & 2 examination of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow becoming a Member of The Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, MFPM RCPS (Glasg).
Furthermore, Dr. Sami has been appointed Clinical Director of the Fit Feet Program at the 2019 Special Olympics which will be held in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Sami is the only podiatrist in the UAE who is licensed by both the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD). He is also an examiner for the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Sami is based at the Chiropody Center in Dubai and at the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Dr. Sami presented a poster about a rare case of a diabetic foot ulcer in pregnancy at the Diabetes UK Professional Conference in London. He also lectures regularly at various conferences. He lectured at the AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinology) conference in Abu Dhabi, at the 4TS vascular conference in Dubai, at the advanced diabetes congress in Abu Dhabi and several times at Arab Health Congress in Dubai.
Interests:
Non-surgical management of ingrowing toenails using phenol matrixectomy.
Laser treatment for nail fungus.
Overuse injuries caused by abnormal biomechanics such as plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, Morton’s Neuroma and adult acquired flatfoot.
Diabetic foot disease and the focus on preventing amputations.
Social life:
Dr. Sami is married with four children. He is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling.
