Dr. Shahzad Maqbool

Dr. Shahzad Maqbool finished his FSC from Government Degree College, Sheikhupura Pakistan in 1983. He earned his MBBS in Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore Pakistan and obtained his post-graduation in FCS where he also worked as a registrar in neurosurgery and one year rotation in general surgery and ICU from 1994-1999 in College of Medicine, Africa. He also earned his Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice.

He started his career as a medical internship at the Mayo Hospital, Lahore Pakistan, the largest hospital in Pakisan, then worked as a Medical officer in Rural Health Centre, Pakistan during 1991. Later in 1992, he performed as a Senior Resident Medical Officer in Kitwe Central Hospital, Zambia. He then continued his medical career in South Africa for about 17 years with Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and Kimberley Hospital Complex. After 2010, he moved to UAE, and continued his practices as the Head of Neurosurgical and Spinal Unit in a highly specialised acute care and emergency hospital.

He joined several local and international workshops and congresses held in South Africa, USA, Europe, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, KSA. He attended as Honorary Lecturer in the University of Free State, Bloemfontein and University of Witwaters Rand Johannesburg during 2000-2010.
