Dr. Stephanie Srour

Mrs. Stephanie Srour is Clinical Psychologist at ACPN. She received her MA degree in Clinical Psychology in 2016 and BA degree in Psychology in 2013 from the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanon. During her MA studies, Mrs. Srour enrolled in an intensive clinical training program, at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). Mrs. Srour specialized in an integrative approach of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavior psychotherapies for children and adolescents. Furthermore, her training included conducting cognitive, psychoeducational, and psychological assessments for children and adolescents. Mrs. Srour remains a licensed practitioner in psychology in Lebanon and the UAE.

Mrs. Srour has been in the field of mental health for seven years. Prior to moving to Abu Dhabi in 2020, Mrs. Srour worked in Lebanon, primarily at SKILD Center as Head of the Psychology Department for four years. Mrs. Srour worked with children and adolescents suffering from academic and psychological difficulties, providing psychotherapy, and leading psychoeducational assessments. She is skilled at administering assessments such as WISC-V, K-ABC, TOVA, WJ, CARS, BASC-3, CBCL, among others. Mrs. Srour supervised a team of psychologists at the center. She worked on psychosocial program to support Syrian refugee families in Lebanon. Mrs. Srour also held her private practice as part of Nawfal Clinics, Lebanon since 2017. A major part of Mrs. Srour’s job included raising awareness and providing workshops for teachers and professionals working with children that suffer from learning difficulties. Mrs. Srour co-authored book chapters in the books titled “Strategies for Children with Learning Difficulties” and “Wise Parenting”.

Mrs. Srour’s main interest and area of expertise is in diagnosis of learning difficulties and providing recommendations for schools and parents. In addition, Ms. Srour provides therapy for children and adolescents who suffer from anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, social phobia, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) and general anxiety disorder (GAD) as well as depression. She is also interested in tackling behavioral problems that arise with diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), parental divorce, and adjustment. Mrs. Srour believes that her therapeutic relationship with her clients, as well as her patience, and optimism, in addition to the interventions provided, support her clients in overcoming their emotional and behavioral struggles.
