Dr. Syed Kabir

Dr. Syed Kabir has over 15 years of experience in the field of Neurosciences. He finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine from Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh in 1996 and his MRCSEd from Royal College of Surgeons, UK in 2001 and FRSCEd in Neurosurgery from Royal College of Surgeons, UK in 2007. He obtained his certification ( CCT) in Neurosurgery from UK in 2008.

Dr Kabir did his neurosurgical training in the UK (South Yorkshire Deanery) and worked as a Specialist Registrar in Royal Hallamshire Hospital, UK .Following his CCT, he did a complex spine fellowship in London. In 2010, he became a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal surgeon at Royal National Orthopedic Hospital and thereafter continued working as a Consultant in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, UK. In 2013, he moved to the UAE and continued his practice as Consultant Neurosurgeon in major government hospitals in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

His areas of expertise includes cranial trauma, hematoma, depressed fracture, various shunt procedures, tumors ,degenerative and complex spine including spinal tumor and infections, rheumatoid spine, syringomyelia, Chiari malformation, dural AV fistula etc.

To his credit, Dr. Syed Kabir has authored several research works and has attended several national and international courses and meetings on complex spine. He has also published book chapters and several papers in peer reviewed journals and is a reviewer for internationally renowned spine journal.
