Dr. Theodora Kerenidi

​Dr. Theodora Kerenidi, MD, is an Associate Staff Physician in the Respiratory Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. She specializes in thoracic oncology, including diagnostic assessment, staging and therapeutic approach for malignant diseases of the lung and the pleura, pleural effusions and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Kerenidi was an Assistant Professor of Pulmonology at the University of Thessaly Medical School, Larissa, Greece and worked as a Consultant Respiratory Physician at the affiliated General University Hospital of Larissa, having both clinical and academic responsibilities. She has broad experience in teaching students at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels and the management of residents in the hospital’s Respiratory Medicine Department. Her research interests focus on lung cancer, especially translational research for the evaluation of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, as well as anti-tumor immune response.

Dr. Kerenidi received her medical degree from the National Medical University of Lviv, Ukraine, before completing her residency in general internal medicine and her fellowship in respiratory medicine at the Sotiria General Hospital of Chest Diseases, Athens, Greece. She has postgraduate training in thoracic oncology as an honorary fellow in the lung unit at Royal Marsden Hospital in London, UK. Dr. Kerenidi is also a member of several international scientific organizations, including the European Respiratory Society, the National Lung Cancer Partnership and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. Dr. Kerenidi resides in Abu Dhabi with her husband and child. ​​​​​​​​​​
