Dr. Tomson Daniel Thomas is a highly skilled pediatric surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in complex pediatric and neonatal surgical field. With more than 5000+ successful surgeries to his credit, his surgical experience is a journey of passion and determination.

From building and managing fine surgical skills, from some of the most diverse and complex surgical environments across India, he have made himself one of the most reliable team member in all organizations, he have been associated with.

His domain of expertise is in Neonatal surgery, Paediatric Thoracic surgery, Paediatric urology and Paediatric GI Surgeries. He is especially known for his skills in newborn surgery.

Dr. Tomson maintains a keen academic interest and is a frequent speaker at national and international pediatric surgery conferences. He was National Executive Member of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (2015-2017), Executive Member of Kerala chapter Association of Pediatric Surgeons, Life member Paediatric Endo Surgeons Group of India (PESI) and member of Indian Society for Pediatric Urology. As an active IAPS member, Dr. Tomson is involved in facilitating the ongoing assessment, monitoring, and improvement of pediatric surgical clinical and research program processes in the Indian subcontinent.

Dr. Tomson received his MBBS, From Mysore University, Karnataka, and “Masters” in General surgery (MS) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, and “Magister Chirurgiae” (MCh) in Pediatric Surgery, from Trivandrum Medical College, Kerala.

Skills and Expertise

• Highly specialized and skilled in premature infant and neonatal surgical procedures. Expert in management of children with congenital malformations, Intestinal Atresias, Malrotation, Volvulus, abdominal wall defects, Anorectal malformations. Also trained and skilled in advanced minimally invasive procedures in neonates.
• Special training in operating Paediatric Thoracic surgery cases, which involves surgical repair of tracheoesophageal fistula, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, Thoracoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Lobectomy, tumor mass excision.
• Expertise in surgical intervention of Pediatric Urology includes Uro-Laparoscopic / Cystoscopic Procedures, pelviureteral junction obstruction, Vesico-ureteral obstruction, ureterocele, Posterior urethral valves , Hypospadias, Exstrophy bladder etc.
• Pediatric and neonatal GI Surgeries, Intestinal Atresias, Trauma, and General Pediatric surgery, like Orchiopexy, Herniotomy, Circumcision, Appendectomy, and USG guided saline enema reduction for Acute Intussusception.
