Dr. Van der Kamp is a certified neurologist and neurophysiologist, who graduated from the University Hospital of Leiden, the Netherlands. His promotion thesis in 1994 focused on magnetic brain stimulation. He spent a year as a fellow in London with Prof. C.D. Marsden. In London, he received training on movement disorders and neurophysiological studies and worked at an epilepsy and muscle research center.
Dr. Van der Kamp has more than 30 years professional experience in treating Children and Adults with neurological disorders.
Dr. Van der Kamp worked as the head of the Neurophysiological Department at a large training Hospital in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. Moreover he worked on Curacao and Bonaire and as a consultant neurologist for the islands of Saba and St. Eustatius (Dutch Caribbean).
Dr. Van der Kamp is a neurologist and neurophysiologist, with special interest in movement disorders, vascular neurology and migraine disorders. He is also specialized in the treatment of spasticity and dystonia with botulinum toxin, sleep disorders and lower back pain. As a neurophysiologist he performs and analyses electromyography, encephalography, evoked potentials, duplex ultrasound and sleep studies. He worked on scientific studies focusing on multiple sclerosis, dystonia and botulinum toxin use and is a regular guest speaker at international congresses and conferences.
As a hyperbaric physician he advises about diving and diving accident treatment.
During his career he has worked in different parts of the world, in both academic and peripheral hospitals, in Western Europe and in the Caribbean. Dr. van der Kamp is a very capable, pleasant physician, who always goes above and beyond for his patients, comforting them and ensuring that they are fully satisfied with their care. After traveling through the Gulf area he was impressed with the way of life and the surroundings. He is very enthusiastic and pleased with the opportunity to lend his expertise to the German Neuroscience Center.
