Dr. Vaquas Mohammad Shaikh

Dr. Vaquas Mohammad Shaikh, MD is a Staff Physician in the Emergency Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Dr. Shaikh was a Staff Physician at William Osler Health System, primarily at the Brampton Civic campus – one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Canada. Prior to that, he worked at Hamilton Health Sciences, the academic teaching center at McMaster University. Dr. Shaikh is also an Assistant Professor at McMaster University.

Dr. Shaikh received his medical degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. He completed his residency at McMaster University as well.

Dr. Shaikh has a keen interest in improving quality of care. He co-founded and co-directed the William Osler Simulation Program in Emergency Medicine. It is aimed at staff already in practice to improve crisis resource management, cognitive structures, communication and efficiency while minimizing errors in a chaotic resuscitation environment. The program is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as the Canadian College of Family Physicians.
