He received his medical degree from Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine (M.B.B.Ch.) in 1995 followed by his Master’s Degree in Ophthalmology in 2001. He earned his MD from same University in 2014.

Dr. Wael is a specialist ophthalmologist with over 15 years’ experience where he joined Magrabi Eye and Ear Hospital since 2003. He subspecializes in Cataract and Glaucoma as well as anterior segment reconstruction surgery. Throughout his career, he perfected his knowledge and acquired new techniques that allow him to take care of complicated cataract surgery cases.
