Dr. Walid Shaker

Dr. Walid Shaker is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with more than 20 years of experience. He is an Associate Professor and consultant of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Ain Shams University hospitals, one of the biggest cardiac centers in the Middle East.

He pursued his Medical training at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He obtained the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1994, the Master in Surgery in 1997 and the Doctorate in Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2003. He pursued fellowships in Cardiac Surgery, minimal invasive surgery and heart transplant in France at Pierre et Marie Curie University- George Pompidou European Hospital in Paris and Claude Bernard University in Lyon, Louis Pradel Hospital.

In October 2007 onwards he worked as a Cardiac Surgeon at well-known government hospitals in Abu Dhabi. He helped in the surgical treatment and cure of heart diseases for a large number of patients along more than 9 years in UAE. Dr. Walid Shaker, has a wide experience in the entire spectrum of adult cardiac surgery Including coronary bypass, valve replacement and valve repair surgeries.

He has been an instructor of the American Heart Association courses for several years. He also contributed widely and consistently in cardiac surgery academic and teaching activity. He holds memberships in organizations which include Egyptian Association of Cardio- Thoracic Surgery, European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, Emirates Heart Association and the Gulf Heart Association. He has a keen interest in research and has published many articles in reputed medical journals.
