Mohamed Al Garhy

Dr. Mohamed Al Garhy joined British Neurology Psychiatry Center as a Consultant Psychiatrist moving from one of the most reputable hospitals in UAE, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) as the Medical Director and Chairman of Behavioral Science Pavilion (BSP), one of the largest mental health facilities in UAE.

Dr. Al Garhy has more than 30 years experience in General and Addiction Psychiatry. He served as a Consultant Psychiatrist in National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, prior to this he was the Medical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist in Al Amal Hospital in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

He holds certificate of completion of Specialist Training (CCST) awarded by Specialist Training Authority of Medical Royal Colleges in UK and Master Degree in Health Administration from University of Atlanta, USA. He is fully registered with Specialist Registration in General Medical Council, UK.

He is a former Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in UAE University and an expert witness for Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

Dr. Al Garhy is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) in Maryland, USA, member of Early Intervention in Mental Health Association (IEPA), Victoria Australia and a member of Devon and Exeter Medical Society in the UK.

In the field of addiction psychiatry he conducted many researches and has multiple publications in European Psychiatric Journals. He has been contributing in many international psychiatric conferences as conference president, speaker and member of scientific and organizing committees.

He was a Member of the Editorial Board of the Psychiatric Bulletin, Royal College of Psychiatrist in UK.

Dr. Al Garhy was a Lecturer in psychiatry and addiction medicine in UAE University, Gulf Medical University, Educational Institute SKMC and Southwest Peninsula post graduate medical education in Devon, UK.

He appears in UAE Media, newspapers & Abu Dhabi TV programs, discussing topics related to drug and alcohol misuse.

Besides being an expert in the field of drug and alcohol misuse treatment, he has wide areas of interest but not limited to, schizophrenia, mood disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobia, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorders, autism, eating disorders, psycho sexual disorders, sleep disorders and forensic psychiatry.
