Dr. Volpe obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Italy) and he completed his postgraduate training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care medicine in prestigious academic departments in Italy, USA and United Kingdom.

He has been Lecturer in Anaesthesia and IC Medicine at the University of London, St. Bartholomew’s Hospital for 2 years. Since 1990 he has held Consultant Posts in University Hospitals and Academic Specialist Units in Italy and in the UK being employed also in department’s management roles. He has over 30 years' experience in clinical anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. He has been invited as a speaker at several international Anesthetic and Intensive Care congresses.
