Dr. Roberto Pineiro Bolano is committed to excellence in general clinical Neurology with more than 19 years of experience. Dr. Bolano masters botulinun toxin application in movement disorders, spasticity and pain (migraine and others), functional MRI, Trans-cranial Doppler and routine neurophysiology techniques such as EMG, nerve conduction studies, trans-cranial magnetic stimulation and Magneto-encephalography. Dr. Pineiro Bolano has a wide experience treating patients suffering from many kind of neurological conditions. He worked as a Consultant Neurologist in an 800 bed reference teaching general hospital, serving approximately 250,000 inhabitants since July 2001 (Lugo, Spain). He has handled both, an out-patient clinic in General Neurology, an out-patient clinic specifically for Botulinum (movement disorders, headache, spasticity) and in-patients admitted to the general neurology ward, in close relationship with the neurology team made up of 7 neurologist, as well as, Neurophysiologist, Neurosurgeons and Radiologists. Dr. Pineiro Bolano was the driving force in setting up the Stroke Unit and applying the latest technologies for stroke patient care with mechanical thrombectomy or infra arterial thrombolisys. He also was the principal investigator in DIAS III trial. Dr. Pineiro Bolano was involved in working with medical students and registrars in many specialties, including teaching neurology to registrars and supervising their work in the wards and out-patient clinic. Dr Pineiro Bolano has achieved an extensive education, clincal and teaching experience after having completed his speciality trainning as neurologist at Hospital Universitario San Carlos (Madrid, Spain) and having worked as visiting doctor, fellow resercher, lecturer and neurologist in world reknowed England educational and research centres and hospitals (Oxford and London University, Radcliffe Infrmary, St Georges' Hospital Medical school, National Institute of Neurology, Charing Cross Hospital).
