Dr. Mahdi Abusalameh

Dr Mahdi Abusalameh is a UK trained consultant rheumatologist with more than 12 years’ experience in all aspects of adult rheumatology in the United Kingdom. He worked as a consultant rheumatologist and acute physician in Exeter where he established and led a fast track pathway for giant cell arteritis incorporating the use of ultrasound. He has a vast experience in musculoskeletal and large vessel vasculitis ultrasound, and has tutored at several, conferences, clinical meetings and workshops. He was principal investigator of several studies on large vessel vasculitis and polymyalgia rheumatica PMR. Dr Abusalameh has extensive experience in joint and soft tissue therapeutic injections.

He was awarded the local clinical excellence award CEA in 2019. He serves the Royal College of Physicians London and Glasgow as a clinical MRCP examiner.
