Dr. Poornima Balagopal is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with 10 years of experience. She did her MBBS in JSS Medical College Mysore, and MS in JJM Medical College Davangere. She has done her Fellowship and Diploma in Gynae Laparoscopic surgery from Sunrise hospital Ernakulam and World Laparoscopy Hospital, Delhi. She has also done her fellowship in Obstetric Ultrasound from Foetal Foundation of India under the guidance of Dr Ram Murthy.
She has worked in various reputed institutions like Lakshmi Hospital, Ernakulam and served in Medical Colleges (JSS Medical college Mysore) involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
She is skilled in handling stressful Obstetric situations like obstructed labour, placenta previa, abruptio placenta, eclampsia, previous LSCS, ectopic pregnancies and other complicated Gynaecological surgeries including open and laparoscopic Hysterectomies, open and laparoscopic Myomectomies, open and Laparoscopic Cystectomies, Endometriosis, PID, Prolapse surgeries.
She has been doing Level 3 Gynaecological Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic surgeries for the past 7 years. She is also skilled in performing Obstetric Ultrasound.
