Dr. Tabassum Perveen

Dr. Tabassum has more than 25 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Prior to joining Mediclinic in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Tabassum was a consultant at Corniche Hospital, Abu Dhabi where she worked for 18 years and was Lead Colposcopist for the cervical screening programme. She was also Site Director for the internship programme and part of the core teaching faculty of the obstetrics and gynaecology programme at Corniche Hospital, and was involved with formulating guidelines for antibiotic administration and colposcopy.

Dr. Tabssum has extensive experience in managing high-risk pregnancies, medical disorders in pregnancies, growth restricted babies and multiple pregnancies, early pregnancy complications, abortions, infertility investigation and treatment, adolescent gynaecology, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding and menopausal problems. Her sub-specialities are managing high-risk pregnancies and colposcopy for screening and prevention of cervical cancer.

Dr. Tabassum has a special interest in teaching and research. She has conducted colposcopy training as a BSCCP, UK accredited trainer. Dr. Tabassum has presented in several national and international conferences. She has also published papers in medical journals.

She trained at Aga Khan Medical University Hospital, Karachi and Tallaght University Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. Dr. Tabassum is a Fellow of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK.
