Dr. Abid Qazi is Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Al Jalila Children’s and trained in Pakistan and the United Kingdom. He has fellowships in paediatric surgery from United Kingdom, Europe, and Pakistan. He has published two books in paediatric surgery and several papers on various topics of paediatric surgery. Dr. Abid was awarded a medal of distinction (Tamgha-I Imtiaz) by the President of Pakistan in 2000 for his outstanding achievements in the field of paediatric surgery. His main interest is in paediatric solid tumours. He has worked in a high volume dedicated cancer hospital for 5 years. Taking paediatric renal tumour as an index operation, he has performed over 100 tumours in less than 5 years with very good outcome including nephron sparing surgery. He is also well versed with the surgery of liver tumours in children, germ cell tumour and neuroblastoma. He has very good experience of applying laparoscopic technique in removing tumours where it is safe to do so.

His skills are well recognised internationally. He is a member of International Society of Paediatric Surgical Oncology (IPSO), International Society of Paediatric Oncology and Pakistan Society of paediatric Oncology (PSPO) and also a member of CCLG, UK. At Al Jalila Children’s, we can provide comprehensive care of solid tumours for radiological investigations, diagnostic biopsy, vascular access for chemotherapy and surgical excision of tumour.
