Dr. Amitabh Kulkarni

Dr. Amitabh Kulkarni did his MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine) and from the University of Mumbai and Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Nephrology from the National Board of Examinations, Ministry Of Health & welfare, New Delhi India.

He has a Clinical Fellowship in Nephrology from the University of Ottawa, Canada where he worked for 2 years gaining experience in management of various electrolyte disorders and active pre-transplant evaluations of donors and recipients. He worked at the Narayana Hrudayala Hospital in Hyderabad, where he was a chief consultant nephrologist and transplant physician. He also worked as full time consultant in Department of Nephrology at Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills branch at Hyderabad.

He had been certified as the best poster presentation (Co - presenter): Analysis of ARF in ICU: 35th Annual Conference of Indian Society of Nephrology, Nov 2004, Varanasi, India

Over the last 6 years, he has independently performed nearly 400 internal jugular and femoral vein dialysis catheter placements, over 200 renal biopsies (native and transplant kidney), 15 temporary peritoneal dialysis catheter placements, and interpretation of renal biopsy after individual review of biopsies with pathologist.

He has actively participated in teaching sessions for junior medical doctors, dialysis therapist and nursing staff, journal clubs, conferences, and seminars and he more than 15 presentations and publications in various national and international meetings and journals.

He is currently working as a specialist Nephrologist in NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Nahda, Dubai.
