Dr. Amitabha Majumdar

Dr Amit Majumdar is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, with super-speciality level training and expertise in urogynaecology, and Associate Chief Medical Officer for Women’s and Children at King’s College Hospital Dubai.

He graduated from India and after successful completion of postgraduate training in India, he went to the United Kingdom where he completed his Certificate of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with super-speciality level research, training and certification in Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor reconstructive surgery. He has also significant expertise in perinatal mental health.

He has more than 70 publications and presentations in urogynaecology and other specialities of obstetrics and gynaecology in peer reviewed journals.

He was the Specialty Lead in University Hospital of South Manchester, Lead Urogynaecologist and Chief of Gynaecology at Corniche Hospital where he set up super-speciality level urogynaecology service offering all diagnostic, medical and surgical management of women with incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction. He also looks after women with all known gynaecological disorders like menstrual problems, fibroid uterus, chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, etc.

He has extensive experience of surgical correction of female urinary incontinence, prolapse, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy and all other gynaecological surgeries. He has special experience of surgery for women with invasive placental disease and other high-risk obstetric surgeries.
