Dr. Andrea Lorente Miranda

Dr Lorente is European Board-Certified Consultant Neurologist with extensive clinical experience in adult Neurology. Dr Lorente worked at Canary University Hospital for more than 13 years in the care of acute and chronic neurological patients, developing teacher activities with resident doctors and medical students as well as MRI researcher activities. Additionally, she has extensive experience in private practice.  In 2006 she obtained her Medical Degree (M.D.) from Medical College of the National University of Cuyo, Argentina. Afterwards she moved to Spain and completed the neurology specialisation program (M.I.R), after which she got the European Board of Neurology (E.B.N.) Certification.

She possess two master degrees in Neuroimmunology and Movements Disorders from Barcelona University and Murcia University respectively. In 2019 she obtained the Neurosonology Certification from Spanish Society of Neurology. Dr Lorente was a member of Care of Patient with Acute Ischaemic Stroke Committee. She has participated in regional, national and international congresses, and has publications in journals and has authored chapters of neurology books.

Her medical expertise includes cerebrovascular disease, performing Eco-Doppler of intra and extra cranial vessels, demyelinating disease (multiple sclerosis), epilepsy, headache, movement disorders, dementia, ataxia, neuromuscular disorder, CNS inflammatory and infection disease, sleep disorders and general neurology.

In addition, Dr Lorente has been a Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN) member since 2009, cerebrovascular group (GEECV) member, and demyelinating disease group (GEED) member.
