Dr. Joseph Abboud

Dr Joseph Abboud is a well renowned French Gynecologist, Obstetrician and Breast Surgeon, with more than 40 years of experience. He masters high-level laparoscopic surgeries such as myomectomy, hysterectomy and gynecological cancers, treatment of endometriosis and treatment of genital prolapse, among others.

Pr Joseph Abboud is a pioneer in his specialty in Lebanon & Middle East:

First Breast conservative Treatment for breast cancer performed in the Middle East in 1978,

First laparoscopic gynecologic surgery performed in Lebanon in 1978,

First IVF performed in the Middle East in 1986; with a first delivery after pregnancy by IVF in1989.

He was head of department of Gynecology & Obstetrics of Hôtel-Dieu de France University Hospital in Beirut, and Chairman of the Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics of a leading medical school in Lebanon (St-Joseph University) and Dean of the Midwifery School of the same university. He formed numerous gynecologists and midwives.  He is now Chairman of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Bellevue University Medical Center, Beirut, LEBANON.

He is member of multiple medical societies and is Founding President of the Association of the French Speaking Gynecologists created in 1999 in Lebanon, organizing yearly medical symposium to discuss most recent advances in the field.
