Dr. [Prof.] Karl Miller

Dr. [Prof. ] Karl Miller is Professor of Surgery,  Vice President of the Obesity Academy Austria. With over 22 years of experience in Obesity and Metabolic disorders management as Bariatric Surgeon, he is one of the pioneers of laparoscopic Bariatric surgery in Austria , where he was a founding member of the Austrian Society for Obesity and Metabolic Disorders which he presided over from 2000 till 2015.

Dr. [Prof. ] Miller also served as president of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) 2010 -2011 and presided over the IFSO World Congress that he organised in 2015. He is active trainer and serves as faculty surgeon of several world renowned medical training centres, such as IRCAD Strasbourg, France, the European Surgical Institute, Hamburg and the Sharjah Surgical Institute, UAE.

Dr. [Prof]. Miller is also an active clinical researcher and has authored over 110 clinical research publications and 21 books. He is editorial board member of several medical journals such as Obesity Surgery, Surgery of Obesity and Related Diseases, World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Video surgery and Minimally Invasive Techniques and Archives of Obesity.
