Dr. Mendes is a Specialist in Clinical Psychology who has more than 10 years' experience in psychotherapy and counselling patients with a variety of emotional and situational problems. She is highly skilled in developing a practical and achievable treatment plan that is tailored to your needs and builds on your strengths. Dr. Mendes customizes therapy to suit each of her clients by drawing from a variety of techniques. Dr. Mendes earned her Masters in Psychology with specialization in Clinical Psychology Dynamic Guidance, Faculty of Psychology, from Lisbon University, Lisbon, Portugal. She received her Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy from Harvard Medical School – Department of Psychiatry and by the Cambridge Health Alliance, Boston, USA. She earned her post-graduate professional l title from the Portuguese Board of Psychologists(OPP -Ordem dos Psicologos Portugueses).

She earned the EAAD Award, presented by the European Alliance Against Depression (EAAD) and the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, given to the best Portuguese investigation regarding depression and suicide prevention.
