Dr. Nader Darwich

One of the region’s most trusted and experienced Orthopedic Surgeons and Sports Medicine Specialists, Dr. Darwich is a Consultant Knee Surgeon and Chairman of Burjeel Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center.

He is a French-trained orthopedic surgeon whose areas of focus include arthroscopic surgery, knee ligament reconstruction and is expert in treating a variety of sports injuries. He established the Abu Dhabi Knee & Sports Medicine Centre in 2006 to bring world class orthopedic care to Abu Dhabi and the UAE, as well as drawing patients from across the MENA region. Dr. Darwich has been a practicing orthopedic surgeon for 26 years, and has performed more than 11,500 successful surgeries in the UAE since he began practicing here in 1996.

He has participated in over 70 international orthopedic and sports medicine conferences throughout Europe, North America and the Middle East. He is author of more than 15 publications in journal articles as well as book chapters in the field of Anterior Cruciate Ligament surgery. Frequent presenter on orthopedic surgery and joint repair at international orthopedic conferences.

He holds medical licenses with the French Medical Council (orthopedics and trauma surgery), the British Medical Council (Full Registration), and with the Syrian Ministry of Health (as both Orthopedic Surgeon and MD). Dr. Darwich received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Damascus University, and completed post graduate orthopedic training in France, where he began his career as an orthopedic surgeon.
