Dr. Paul Macnamara

Dr Paul Macnamara is a UK Board Certified Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with 25+ years’ experience trained in advanced techniques to allow quicker recovery from major surgery. He has a special interest in primary and revision knee replacement and hip replacement surgeries.  He’s also an expert in the treatment of soft-tissue knee injuries such a meniscus tears and cruciate ligament injuries. Having worked in several tertiary hospitals across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, the UK and Saudi Arabia, Dr Paul Macnamara is considered one of the best hip replacement surgeons and best knee replacement surgeons in Dubai, UAE.

Dr Paul’s UK Orthopaedic training was based in London. He also worked at The Robert Jones Agnes Hunt Hospital, the UK’s largest joint replacement centre. Here he learnt techniques such as enhanced recovery protocols to enable patients to recover quicker from major surgery. Dr Paul also gathered additional fellowship training in Toronto Canada, performing primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasties as well as teaching fellow residents.

Dr Paul completed two further fellowships in a Military Hospital in Bogota Colombia and a British Orthopaedic Association Travelling fellowship to Shanghai and Beijing.  During his training he has presented and published papers on a broad range of orthopedic subjects and has always taken a keen interest in teaching junior surgeons. He was awarded an Excellence in Teaching award for UAE University in 2017.
