Dr. Romana Hamid

Dr. Romana Hamid is Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with special interest in Maternal & Fetal Medicine, high risk pregnancies with special expertise in Diabetes in pregnancies, Women’s health and office Gynaecology. She has over 25 years of experience in her field, including over 10 years of experience as substantive Consultant in London.

Dr. Romana Hamid obtained her MRCOG and UK CCT in London, following rotations in busy tertiary and teaching hospitals including St. Georges, Royal Free Hospitals and  King’s College Hospital, London.

Dr Romana Hamid is a Fellow (FRCOG) of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) UK, having obtained MRCOG in 2005. She completed advanced training/ATSM in Fetal Medicine from Royal Free Hospital, London and obtained Joint RCOG/RCR Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound. During  her CCT training. she also completed RCOG Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSM) in Maternal Medicine, Fetal Medicine, Advanced Labour Ward Practices and Medical Education. She has taken keen interest in medical education and served as the RCOG College Tutor for over 6 years at a London University Hospitals Trust. She is RCOG Tier 3 Medical Educator and accredited PROMPT Trainer for obstetric emergencies. She has also been Examiner for undergraduate medical students from Imperial College, London and RCOG Examiner for the MRCOG postgraduate students.

Dr. Romana Hamid is a strong proponent of evidence based medicine and has several publications in peer reviewed journals. She was awarded FIGO Young Scientist Award in 2000 jointly by the Federation International and American College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists for her research work. She was also awarded NHS Clinical Excellence Award in 2019 by her Trust for her services as Obstetrician  and Educational lead for the department.
