Dr. Sabeen Adil

Dr Sabeen Adil is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and General Practitioner.

She has been working in the field of lactation for the last 12 years and is deeply passionate about providing support to families, so they can achieve their breastfeeding goals.

Dr Sabeen graduated from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan and at that time her interests lay in the field of Paediatrics. During the journey, she became interested in breastfeeding and was appalled by the lack of support and knowledge around it. As her life took her to five different countries over a duration of fifteen years, she continued to develop her interest in the lactation profession and skilled lactation care, eventually certifying as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2011.

She set up Pakistan’s first-ever lactation services clinic in Karachi and also provided in-patient and outpatient support at the South City Hospital, Karachi. Dr Sabeen also set up Cuddles Lactation Services that offered online services through support groups, informative videos, blogs, and private online consultations. Recognising the need for this support all over the country, and beyond.

In parallel to this work, she also got involved with the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA). She joined the association as a member, then volunteered for their committees and got elected to their Board of Directors, and eventually served as the President of ILCA for 2020-2021. This work involved advocacy efforts for the lactation profession and breastfeeding, including collaboration with WHO, UNICEF and other global partners.
