Dr Smitharaghavan M V, has over 10 years of experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Soon after graduating in MBBS, from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, she migrated to United Kingdom for higher training.

She underwent systematic training in the British system, working in various University and district general hospitals. This gave her the opportunity to train with some of the best Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the country, thus imbibing the skills from the able trainers.

She completed MRCOG, and trained as specialty registrar in Northern deanery for 5years. During this period, she underwent advanced training in managing women in labour, managing gynaecological emergencies and early pregnancy problems, Gynaecologic USS including early pregnancy scanning and Medical education.

She achieved “Certificate of completion of training” from General Medical Council, the governing body for doctors in United Kingdom.

She has presented and published clinical audits in various national and international conferences. She has devised several guidelines and protocols for the hospital she has trained in, which has contributed to improving the quality of care provided to patients.

Services provided:

• Low risk and high risk antenatal care:  Managing pregnancies complicated by medical problems, multiple pregnancies, (twins and more), and complications arising during the pregnancy.
• Managing Labour: Managing low and high risk labour, including performing high risk caesarean sections, vacuum and forceps deliveries and managing labour related complications for both mother and baby.
• Managing Gynaecologic Emergencies and early pregnancy problems: Acute management of women presenting with emergency problems. Managing early pregnancy problems, initiating management for recurrent miscarriage, infertility etc. Ultrasound scan for Gynaecological and early pregnancy problems. Laparoscopic procedures like Sterilisation, Salpingectomy for tubal pregnancy.
