Dr. Walid Faraj

Dr Walid Faraj is UK Board Certified Award Winning General Surgeon specialised in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, liver transplant and minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, UK and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After completing his General Surgery Training at the American University of Beirut, he undertook advanced Fellowship Training in Liver Transplantation, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Kings College Hospital, London UK.

In 2009 Dr Faraj joined the Department of Surgery at the American University of Beirut and in 2017 became Head of Division of General Surgery. Dr Faraj has extensive experience in liver and pancreatic surgery, surgical oncology and general surgery. In addition to his clinical expertise, he has extensive research experience and has published over 90 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

In 2013 Dr Faraj was awarded the prestigious International Guest Scholar Award from the American College of Surgeons. Dr Faraj has been representing Lebanon in the Arab Board of Surgery since 2010 and has been recently elected to the International Relations Committee of the American College of Surgeons.
