Dr. Zaid Alrawi

Dr. Zaid Alrawi is a Swedish Board-certified consultant rheumatologist with over 19 years’ experience.

He completed his training at some of the most recognized Swedish institutions including Lund University Hospital and Blekinge Hospital. He has practiced rheumatology in both Sweden and the UAE.

During his practice in Sweden, he gained excellent experience in treating inflammatory and crystal joint diseases in adults, such as rheumatoid arthritis, spondylarthritis (like ankylosing spondylitis and arthritis associated with inflammatory bowel disease) psoriatic arthritis, gout arthititis and other rheumatic diseases. He is an expert in treating autoimmune connective tissue disease like Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma, polymyositis and dermatomyositis and vasculitis.

He has a vast experience in the use of biologic agents in the management of auto-immune arthritis. He has a special interest in preventing and treating osteoporosis.

He is a keen interest in musculoskeletal ultrasonography as an efficient tool in diagnosis and management of rheumatic diseases. In addition, he is experienced in therapeutic local injections and ultrasound guided interventions. He served as the aeromedical rheumatology examiner for the Emirates airline.

A part of his medical carrier engaged in research projects, teaching and training medical students and resident physicians.
