Dr. Emad Kowatli

Dr. Emad Kowatli is a veteran in Pulmonary medicine and critical care, who graduated in 1983 and started his clinical career in Damascus- Syria.  He moved to USA, where he has done medical research at Northwestern University and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, then started his residency and fellowships in Internal Medicine, Critical Care and Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine at Wright State,  Chicago Medical School/Cook County Hospital, and at University of South Florida respectively. He has passed four US Board certifications and practiced in USA 12 years and 13 years in UAE in various capacities like Teaching faculty as associated professor, Chair of Critical Care units and Director of ethics committee.

Dr. Emad Kowatli, being the first American Board certified intensivist and pulmonary medicine consultant in UAE, was instrumental in setting up the first Sleep lab in UAE and was the one who has introduced interventional pulmonary procedures and smoking cessation clinic in to the hospitals.

Dr. Emad Kowatli was assigned by the American College of Chest Physician to be the area Regent to continue medical education and he has delivered 300+ lectures in pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine & started first pulmonary HTN clinic.
