Dr. Sasa Janjanin (Reviews) Otologist/Neurotologist

Dr. Sasa is an ENT Specialist with over 25 years of experience. He is double European Board-certified in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He graduated from Zagreb University in Croatia and further specialized at Zagreb University Hospital Centre. He also completed advanced surgical training and obtained a Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, prior to spending significant time practicing in some of the best centers in both the USA and Germany. As a Fulbright fellow, Dr Sasa has performed research in stem cells, tissue engineering and nanomaterials at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA, which eventually resulted in him obtaining MSc and PhD degrees in biomedical sciences.

Dr. Sasa has published more than 35 articles in international medical journals, participated at numerous conferences with more than 150 presentations and received several international prestigious awards for his research and advancement of clinical science. He is an active reviewer of several prestigious medical journals and a member of several international specialty societies, including the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and European Rhinologic Society.Prior to coming to Dubai in 2011 he was a Faculty member at the University Hospital teaching ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery to students and residents.

Dr. Sasa’s additional passion is in sport-related ENT problems; for many years he was a consultant for several professional and national sports teams and athletes, some of who are Olympic medal and European championship winners. Dr. Sasa is available to consult in English and Croatian, with a good understanding of Russian, German and Italian.

Dr. Sasa has trained extensively in complete surgical and medical treatment of patients with ENT disorders and diseases of the head and neck. His major expertise is in sinus and nasal breathing conditions, allergies, paediatric and adult ENT conditions, aesthetic rhinoplasty and otoplasty, snoring and other sleep-related disorders, skin cancer surgery, ear infections, neck and thyroid gland disorders (thyroid nodules, enlarged lymph nodes, cysts) and occupational-related ENT problems (flying, diving).
