Tawam Hospital, in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine and part of the SEHA healthcare system, has strengthened its position as a leading UAE medical institution and national referral center having made significant service enhancements over the past year.

In 2013, Tawam Hospital’s caregivers treated almost 96,000 patients in the emergency department and over 290,000 patients in the outpatient clinics. High-efficiency in attending to patients was achieved resulting from streamlining and modernizing operations with waiting time in both the emergency department and the outpatient clinics significantly reduced.

In line with its efforts to improve services, Tawam Hospital has received a number of quality awards in recognition of its commitment to excellence. Among the awards received for quality are: Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Gold Award; SEHA Transformational Projects Competition for Tawam’s Gestational Diabetes Service and for Optimizing Quality Healthcare by Managing Instruments & Accessories Cost Effectively and Time Efficiently; SEHA’s Best 100 Employees in the Executives Category; SEHA’s Best 100 Employees for Technical/Allied Health Category; SEHA’s Best 100 Employees for Field Work Category; and, SEHA’s Best 100 Employees for Specialized Category.

As a learning institution, Tawam Hospital’s medical teams were also recognized for their excellence in SEHA’S 5th Research Conference Award for Best Medical Research 2013; for Best Medical Research Poster; and, for Outstanding Contribution for Medical Research.

Tawam also received accolades such as SEHA’s Circle of Excellence Rising Star; SEHA’s Circle of Excellence Award for Nursing & Allied Health Administration Leadership; Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award and a Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) for IVF and for Radiotherapy Service Tomotherapy.
